The Year of the Dog plot
"A Story About Pulling Through"
Matt, a lonely alcoholic, struggles to stay sober for 30 days so he can grant his mother's wish to visit her sober before she dies. His AA sponsor, Fred, offers him shelter at his farm, where Matt finds a stray Husky with a unique talent. The relationship between man and dog is initially precarious, but with the help of a tight-knit community in Montana, the two strays bond and discover what it takes to cross the finish line.
