Love To Love You paints a picture of the singer, who died in 2012 at the age of 63. Donna Summer's official name was LaDonna Adrian Gaines and she was born in Boston. Her musical career was boosted in Germany in the 1970s when she released her first singles. They did especially well in our country. The documentary contains memories of close family, friends and colleagues of the singer. There are also many archive footage of performances, private recordings and interviews that complete the portrait of the 'Queen of Disco'.

Deserving documentary about the life and career of the versatile singer, who died in 2012 at the age of 63. The focus is understandably mainly on her success in Europe in the 1970s (check that fragment with Sjef Van Oekel!) and her glory days as the queen of disco in the 1980s. Archive footage and memories of family members, friends and colleagues are edited in an entertaining way, but we don't really get to know the complex person behind the artist, not even with the help of her daughter Brooklyn Sudano, who co-directed the documentary. And I would have liked to see more of the heyday with producer Giorgio Moroder.
