"A life of lies can kill."
Gil Bok-soon leads a double life. She works for a hitman company and always knows how to kill her target. At home she is a single mother with a fifteen-year-old daughter. Raising Jae-young is difficult. Just before Bok-soon is about to renew her contract with the company, she is involved in a deadly confrontation.

A bit too long, but not a bad "action" movie about hitmen operating in a world where it's practically a legitimate job with all the organizations and jargon they use (no doubt inspired by John Wick).
I put action in quotes because it's quite sparse in number, definitely spread over 140 minutes so keep that in mind when you get into this; the internal conflict the mother has with balancing her private and professional life is the crux of the film.

Stylish but rather unbalanced and much too long South Korean action film about a single mother with a fifteen-year-old daughter who leads a double life as a hitman. Inventively portrayed action scenes are interspersed with long dialogue scenes in which little happens, although it must be said that the film never really gets boring. But this could have taken at least half an hour.

The guilty go free and the innocent are punished. Kill Bok-soon (Jeon Do-yeon) is infectious as the assassin who begins to question her clients' motives. We've all seen it before, but it's refreshing to have a middle-aged woman in such a role for once. It's also funny how Kill Bok-soon doesn't rely on brute force, but she knows how to exploit the weaknesses of her male opponents by always making analytical assessments of situations. A nice, sincere dynamic between the cold serial killer and the daughter she tries to protect against the harshness of her career choice. But how can the girl remain innocent in a society where she is severely punished for her lesbian feelings? A few wonderfully stylized action sequences and inky jokes about the corporate culture of this hyper-capitalist serial killer industry. Enjoyed from start to finish.
