Ruido plot
Julia is looking for her 20-year-old daughter Ger, who disappeared nine months earlier. The authorities are of no help, even suggesting that too many mistakes were made in the original investigation for the search to continue. Journalist Abril decides to help Julia. Following leads becomes dangerous when someone warns them about getting too close and thereby angering important people. Similar missing persons cases are taking place in Mexico, where drug lords and other criminals are believed to be colluding with government officials and cover-ups are rampant. Julia is led to believe that Ger may have been kidnapped and sold as a sex slave, giving her hope that she can be rescued.
