The Plains plot

Every day at 5:00 pm, Andrew, a middle-aged man with an office job at a legal counter, drives home through the suburbs of Melbourne during rush hour from work. The long commute allows him to call his ailing mother and wife and sometimes give his younger colleague David a lift. Over the course of one year, their hesitant chatter leads to a warm friendship and open conversations in the privacy of the car, and we learn more and more about their lives. Talkback radio is the only contact with the outside world.
