Look What You Made Me Do plot
“When I told my mother that a boy had beaten me in the schoolyard, she said, 'That's because he likes you'.” With that text, in black letters on a bright red screen, this exposé about femicide opens. The film shows three women who survived an abusive relationship – by becoming a murderer themselves. The Finnish Laura, the Dutch Rachel and the Italian Rosalba tell how, but especially why they killed their partners. One speaks eloquently, the other in fits and starts, but all three are candid.

Anyone who knows that most murders take place in the private sphere will not be surprised by the statistics with which Schrijber tries to shock you. She spoke to four women from different cultures, who talk about the domestic violence that preceded their act of desperation: killing their husband. Those stories should speak for themselves, but Schrijber manipulates you ostentatiously with forced tricks. For example, when the Finnish Laura reconstructs her act with the help of her current partner. But there is one scene that will haunt you for a long time: the death of Tatiana Spitzer, with camera footage that is truly shocking and that makes you realize the relevance of this theme.
