In times of great social and economic inequality, the three traditional left-wing parties scored worse than ever in the parliamentary elections last year. How did it come to this? In this documentary, Johan Fretz and Juul Op den Kamp examine the political ideals of social democracy. The result is a biting but also curious look at the political history of the Netherlands. Former PvdA leaders had themselves interviewed to share their reflections on political history and to respond to the accusation that the party has gradually sold ideals.
