Kabuki is a classic form of Japanese dance drama. Kabuki Theater is known for its highly stylized performances, the often glamorous costumes worn by performers, and for the elaborate kumadori makeup worn by some performers. This documentary follows actor Toma Ikuta, known for early-century teen dramas, as he prepares for his first performance. He does this together with his longtime friend, the kabuki actor Matsuya Onoe. The film shows the challenges he has to face and also follows the friendship between the two men.
