Malnazidos plot

The Spanish Civil War. Months of bloody fighting leave thousands dead in the trenches. Jan Lozano, captain of the fifth assault brigade, is on a mission entrusted to him when he and a young driver are captured by an enemy platoon. The possibility of being executed diminishes when a new, unknown enemy shows up: flesh-eating zombies created in a Nazi experiment. Both rival parties must unite and put aside their mutual hatred to survive.

Sympathetic but rather bland and unbalanced zombie/adventure film, smoothly put together but ultimately not very memorable. The Nazis are straight out of Indiana Jones and it doesn't get scary anywhere. The film is somewhat saved by the colorful characters, the nice production design and the original setting (the Spanish civil war), but don't expect too much from this.

A Spanish zombie film with a major lack of both action and horror. A strange conclusion for a film where zombies are actually constantly depicted, but I don't distance myself from it. Any horror, well-placed action, atmosphere and/or tension is hard to find. When the zombies are pounded with rows of bullets, directors De Toro and Caldera place a kind of faint red spot on the screen. These stains are supposed to show blood spatter, but it mainly looked hopelessly cheap in addition to the fact that it doesn't look realistic at all. In addition, it is also constantly decided to keep the really graphic violence out of the picture, and action-packed scenes are regularly interrupted for some lame joke. Towards the finale the film suddenly revived and I started to sympathize with the story again, but it arrives quite late. I also appreciated the opening, but the core of the film leaves a lot to be desired. Always a shame in horror comedies with zombies in the background, which can really benefit from a high fun content.

Outside of the horror challenge I would probably rate this lower, but in the atmosphere of can always do a bit more. So I enjoyed myself quite a bit with this war horror. A bit of a typical cliché with Nazis and their experiments, although there are not that many Nazis involved. We are also in Spain during the civil war and Franco did not really like Hitler.

Zombies yes, although I can hardly judge them. Stubborn as usual, but the power of numbers is more decisive than their individual abilities. It doesn't really get scary, just a lot of banging to get rid of it. More like a kind of adventure film in search of the antidote by a motley crew. Love, hate, betrayal and heroism are around the corner. Nice to have seen it once.
