Inbetween Girl plot

Angie Chen attends a religious school where she doesn't really belong, has no friendships or feels she will miss these years. She expresses herself through her drawings, but her life seems to fall apart when her parents suddenly divorce and Angie's father is already dating another woman. She finds comfort in her boyfriend Liam, whom she has a crush on. He wants their friendship to become sexual, even though he already has a girlfriend. This sets Angie on a journey of sexual awakenings, racial insecurities and artistic expressions.
