After the relationship with Brenda [Sylvia Grace Crim] breaks down, Wes [Ryan Kwanten] starts drinking. In his drunken stupor he ends up in a public toilet where he is accosted through a Glory Hole (really!) by a man [JK Simmons] who calls himself Ghatanothoa. What follows is utterly ridiculous, and I couldn't help but think that it was only at the last minute that McKendy decided that this supposed horror movie was so stupid that she tried to make it into another comedy. Partly due to Kwanteng's abominable acting, this is unfortunately neither terrifying nor funny. A film that Simmons would like to delete from his resume for good, I hope.

Nice.

Nice discovery, which will certainly appeal to lovers of Lovecraft. I myself was only acquainted with his world to a limited extent, but known enough to recognize the reference in this film. Plus, I always find films approaching his universe positively surprising, and Glorious is no different.

Kwanten returns to horror and does well above average. Previously often stuck in roles that only required a limited side of him. It always caused him to be thrown off with a somewhat boring role, but Glorious shows what he can do when given the space to really act. In doing so, he proves to be both comical and sentimental on-point. Simmons as a voice actor also comes into his own.

What remains is a film that does a lot with little. Never before has a film that takes place in a public restroom for the full playing time been so much fun. The cinematography is very strong and the interpretation of the film itself is mainly creative. It's not really great, but enough funny ideas not to get boring. Maybe the special effects towards the end let it down and the energy is never good, but that's about it.

Glorious is a really entertaining horror movie with some delightful scenes. All in all, maybe a little too shielded from gore or really graphical activity, but it's fun. Small horror film that mainly aims for a pleasant experience and also does not last long at all. As these are made, they may be made more often.
