Stanley DeFeo receives a surprising call from a lawyer. He inherited the house and all its belongings from a grandmother he never knew. Stanley travels to Amityville to check out the house and finds his grandmother's old journal. He immediately discovers that his family is hiding dark secrets.

Almost all creepy subjects are used at some point within this universe, but director Trey Murphy certainly tackles cults. However, anyone who consciously watches this film for that subject will nevertheless be disappointed, because the first 70 minutes mainly consist of a soulless main character who has to solve a mystery. Fortunately, secondary characters such as Eric Oberto's are quite successful, but are limited to flashback figures. The characters in the foreground are hardly interesting, especially the endless bleating about the past gets boring very quickly. The finale is a bit more faithful to the title subject, but has too little sensation and arrives far too late.
