A Chiara plot
The close-knit Guerrasio family celebrates the eighteenth birthday of Claudio and Carmela's eldest daughter with friends. His younger sister Chiara is also not missing from the happy party. The next day, the mood changes when Claudio disappears. Chiara starts a quest in which she has to decide for herself which path she wants to walk in her life.

Appealing drama about the daughter of a member of the 'Ndrangheta, the southern Italian counterpart of the Mafia in Calabria. Confronted with her father's life, she is finally faced with a fundamental choice regarding the rest of her own life. The transition in the film to the denouement is a bit too abrupt for my taste.
Nevertheless, a special coming-of-age film with a special cast, which mainly consists of members of the Romolo family. It is not clear from the acting that it is not a professional. Especially Swamy Romolo in the title role gives an exceptional, thoughtful performance.

Interesting film about a mafia family where the godfather has to go into hiding. The youngest daughter Chiara, however, is unaware of her father's practices and is left behind orphaned. Although ... She goes to investigate and wants to find out more about her father. She then walks a difficult path and has to make choices between her family and another life.
The atmosphere of the mafiosi smokes over the film, but contains no violence or threats. The focus is on the girl with all her questions and insecurities within a close-knit family that was eventually knitted together with lies and crime.
Great acting and nice binoculars. Nice art house!

Wonderful movie. After a run-up with his somewhat lesser debut, this is Carpigano's second very successful film in a row. Thematically related. In this film too, an adolescent discovers things about the world in which she grows up that give her the choice of how to grow up. Carpigano's greatest strength is how he plays out scenes so that you have time to immerse yourself in the atmosphere. Another strength is how he can make his protagonists act very layered so that they convey unspoken feelings. Perhaps it is his strength that he usually has entire families act in his films, as a family and without a professional actor in between. Furthermore, he sometimes dares to deviate a bit from pure realism. That can be dangerous, but it is always tasteful and very dosed with him.
