The story of the young illustrator Pia who crosses the ocean in a small boat is seized upon by the filmmaker Marte Bosma as an attempt to escape the uncertainty of existence. Images of the sea turn into hypnotic scenes in which surreal drawings and photos blur the line between reality and the bizarre.
