"A whodunnit with teeth."
Pete lives with his deeply religious wife Trish in a small town in Vermont. Their home is ravaged by a snow storm that isolates the entire village. The underlying resentment between the residents is exposed when an unknown creature hunts the villagers.

Annoying.
Werewolves Within is based on the well-known Werewolves of Wakkerdam game, a game that I have often played in the past. To then see that this will be made into a film adaptation that is also supposed to be a horror film, I couldn't believe my luck. Unfortunately, the result itself is disappointing in that respect.
There are plenty of influences from the game to discover, but to get there you first have to get through a half-hour introduction. It makes sense that the film does it, because the story needs to be built up, but there isn't much build-up. Mainly comedy actually, which is presented in a hysterical and energetic way. Lots of annoying shouting and puns, but they never caught on.
The acting is still nice because everyone is very much into their type, but the problem is that those types never manage to be fun. Despite the attempts to make them very different, they are all just as annoying as each other. Once the mystery element in the film starts, it is more fun to follow, but it is never more exciting or funnier.
You will also be disappointed with this film for bloodshed, because you will not get much of it. Towards the finale, the film gains momentum, bringing the rating from a 1.5* to a 2.0*, but I nevertheless regularly rolled my eyes. The entire film is characterized by humor that is always the same, and always misses the mark. It not only detracts from the horror, but also from the film itself.
I didn't think it was a good film due to the many irritations, but I do recognize that it was well made in certain areas. Thanks to the attractive decorations, a nice atmosphere is created and the finale is quite entertaining. Together with the acting, these are the factors that bring this film to this rating, but that is where it ends.

Sparse comedy horror film, with little to laugh about and certainly nothing to scare. The first half feels like a lackluster variation on Cluedo, populated by an annoying, constantly bickering group of people; After that the film gradually gets better, but it certainly doesn't last. However, the acting is quite okay, the script is quite surprising and visually the film is neatly put together. There is just very little to do.

In the film, a group of residents are herded into the local hotel as a result of a number of disturbing events. Like the characters, the viewer is unaware of the werewolf's identity. The story does not exhaust itself in numerous twists and turns, but keeps it straightforward and simple. And in the end, the solution to the riddle isn't even very important. It's the road to it that is very entertaining.
In a mixture of horror and comedy, a story emerges that is not very innovative. The film mainly focuses on the comedic aspect, although a casual jump scare and some bloody action are also part of the events. The horror is not very exciting. Moreover, the horror is always covered by the humor that sometimes takes absurd forms and is simply funny.
Nice cast too. With Sam Richardson and Milana Vayntrub, the film has a few pleasantly acting protagonists. Werewolves Within is small but nice. Nice movie.
