Well.
Had to laugh about 4 times, so it's not completely hopeless, but I can't say much more about it. At least, nothing positive anyway. Furthermore, mostly bland, not funny when it should have been, a bit annoying even. The group of friends is never fun and certain types are so loud that they snow under others. Quickly forget.

The directorial debut film for actor Josh Duhamel gives every appearance that he really sees Buddy Games as his own little world. He is also quite successful in this and has even managed to release his follow-up film in 2023. It results in a film that is purely focused on comedic situations. There are some dramatic excursions, but they are quickly cut short by Duhamel for some absurd scene, which made me wonder why it had to be attempted at all. The background of the film surrounding the game didn't do much for me, as the film only really comes alive when the buddy games themselves start. I had a good laugh at the antics, culminating in the bar challenge. Very childish, but secretly old-fashioned fun. All in all it is a nonsensical, sometimes messy whole, of which the tournament could have been highlighted more, but that hardly stands in the way of a great evening of entertainment.
