Film could rather stay in the stable.

I thought it was a nice film, but nevertheless a rather unusual choice for a director like Kurt Wimmer. Seems to me like someone who earns his points with science fiction films, although at the time I thought they only made a moderate impression. Children of the Corn benefits from a strong acting cast and some remarkably gross killings. Visually, it all looks a bit tighter and more controlled, with a good sense of editing. However, the color palette could have been a bit more striking and the camera work a bit more focused, but in the end it is clear that someone with vision was behind the helm. It's a pity that the computer effects towards the end are mediocre, as is the rather lame ending, but the event looks good and regularly features brutalities. I especially found the massive burial of the adults to be remarkably gloomy, a feeling that no other part in the series could give me. Most of the audience seems to agree that this remake is extremely substandard in terms of quality, but I can relate to it (especially after slogging through all the previous parts).
