Children of the Corn plot
"In their world adults are not allowed... to live."
Times are hard in the village of Gatlin because the corn crop has failed. The faithful people of this dry, barren region pray for rain. But then a strange boy who is actually a dangerous cult leader named Isaac appears and manages to get the kids to listen to him. Only the blood of the adults can give life to the scorched earth and the corn, he says. The children can't stand 'Isaac' and his bloodthirsty executioner 'Malachi' and so it happens that all adults are murdered one by one. Three years later, a young couple arrives in Gatlin who at first think there's no one left...

Whew this was bad.
First half a standard 80s horror. That is to say: a lot of threat in the music, now and then a scare because the innocent main characters accidentally bump into each other, a lot of suggestion, but little blood when someone dies, and certainly no direct view of the murder. In short, quite boring.
Second half derails with supernatural affairs, which are rendered with very bad special effects. It is that the two leaders of the children, the red one and the little preacher, are very well cast in terms of rot head, and that the music was often atmospheric, otherwise the film would have ended up at the absolute minus point. Now it stays at 1*.

Mediocre film about a couple who end up in a small town where strange things happen. A horror film with murderous children is of course always fun, but there are better ones within this genre. The first half in particular is rather boring and long-winded. After this it gets a bit better, the music is also fine and the two leaders of the children are well cast.
