De Lage Landen plot

Documentary about the ongoing and classical struggle of the inhabitants of the Netherlands against the sea, using photos, animation and a fragment of Joris Ivens' Zuiderzee. The Netherlands is threatened by water from various sides and has therefore built up a great track record in reclaiming land from water over the past five centuries. Over the centuries, the continuous interaction of irrational nature and organized human acts has created the typical Dutch landscape.
