Julio and Ana have been together for over fifteen years. They no longer look or touch each other and daily conflicts have become the norm. Tonight Ana has invited the upstairs neighbors. Salva and Laura are slightly younger than her and welcomed them with open arms when they moved into the complex. Julio and Ana are annoyed by the constant moaning coming from their apartment, but tonight they get an unusual and surprising proposal.

Without consulting Julio [Javier Cámara], Ana [Griselda Siciliani] has invited Laura [Belen Cuesta] and Salva [Alberto San Juan] to dinner. Julio is unpleasantly surprised, but sees this as an opportunity to confront his upstairs neighbors about the loud sex they have at night. Ana wants to keep things pleasant, Julio grins and sprinkles cynical remarks, but Laura and Salva have an agenda too. A strongly acted dissection of an unhappy relationship with lifelike characters. Refreshing to see a comedy about sex that takes the theme seriously. Cuesta and Cámara win this acting duel. Remade in Korean in 2025 and in English in 2026 as The Invite.
