Successful singer Sonne takes her niece into her home after her sister's unexpected death. To protect the niece from her biological father Kees who is demanding custody, Sonne has to share her shocking family history in court. With Kees's return to her life, the deeply hidden secrets about the abuse during Sonne's childhood are slowly being rekindled.

Good film in which a singer suddenly has to take care of her young niece when his mother dies. A film about a difficult subject and also in the film it is clear that it is difficult to talk about. The way in which the flashbacks are edited does not always run smoothly. Great acting, also from the young cast members.

Switching between past and present was initially too abundant, but once you're into it, it's still a beautiful, penetrating film. How life 'behind the front door' is portrayed and develops is well done, and therefore comes across accordingly.
