Lamentations of Judas plot
The residents of a small asbestos mining town in South Africa are ordered to leave. Some stay behind. As veterans of a sordid war, they have such a shady past that they don't feel at home anywhere but this God-forsaken place. When filmmaker Boris Gerrets comes by to ask them questions about the wars in which they participated, he comes across a wall of silence. In order to find out their hidden story, he decides to make a feature film with them about the biblical figure Judas Iscariot, the symbol of betrayal.
