Blackbird plot

Still laughed out loud a few times despite the fact that it sometimes becomes very uncomfortable and confrontational, but that is of course also the intention of the film. Very well portrayed and acted, but I hope I never have to experience this...

Hollywood version of Christian Torpe's haunting screenplay about the tensions in a family in connection with the impending euthanasia of a mother.
Great film, but I rate the 2014 Danish version by director Bille August, which I saw a month ago, slightly higher because of the acting.

No surprise to read that this is a remake of a Danish film. Reminded me a lot of Festen, in terms of structure, styling and content. And in this case also a touch of Simon from our own soil.
Unfortunately, it doesn't get much more than that. The film is from 2019 and far from sensational anymore in the area of this theme.
Fortunately, it is a great watch and has an above average cast. I must honestly say that it took me about an hour to realize that Kate Winslet was playing the eldest daughter!
