Ma'loul Celebrates Its Destruction plot

Since the proclamation of the state of Israel in 1948, several Palestinian villages have been wiped off the map. What remains are ruins, as silent witnesses in the landscape. Ma'loul, just west of Nazareth, is one such ruined village. It was mainly inhabited by Palestinian Christians, who were forced to leave during the Israeli War of Independence in 1948. A detailed painting recalls the village's existence, which has been successively under Jewish, Roman, Ottoman and Palestinian rule since ancient times. Ma'loul also appears to be alive in the memories of the former residents, now of age, who tell what exactly happened.
