Douglas Miller, a broken and lonely Spitfire pilot who survived the Battle of Britain, transfers to a bomber unit, determined to wage war over the skies of Nazi Germany. Douglas must take the place of a cherished and respected Lancaster Bomber pilot who was killed in action. With the permanent crew against him where he must gain their trust and overcome his past to give them the leadership they so desperately need.
