An ultra-cheap and at times unintentionally hilarious little film, thanks to the idiosyncratically bad acting and the rushed finale. At its core, The Evil Down the Street appears very ill-conceived and hastily put together, with very little attention paid to cinematic value and even less to the story. Of course, that isn't exactly a requirement for this type of haunted house movie, but as soon as Kelton Jones, as the father, announces the third spontaneous road trip (one of which even falls on a day when the priest is coming for dinner), the holes start to become apparent. Furthermore, your patience in this far too long affair is not exactly rewarded when the exorcism takes less than five minutes and Alena Gerard's acting is below par. Small bonus points for sporadic experimental use of lighting and dark spaces.
