Good movie, although the first hour didn't give much hope for it. That was even somewhat cliché, exactly what you expect from a film with gruff, taciturn people in a desolate and rough landscape (also nice for some). But it keeps getting better, with nice drama, nice cinematic touches and moments (for example, that boulder rolling down), and a happy ending. Therefore a tight 3.5 *.

Hmm, this one was a bit disappointing. The film starts slowly and not much happened in the first hour. I couldn't keep my attention there all the time. It got more interesting towards the end, but the calf had already drowned.
The cast did a great job and it looked great.

Unruly film that you have to surrender to. But certainly not a bad movie. It's about an aging police officer who lost his wife in a car accident. To cope with this loss, he throws himself into the renovation of a house and spends a lot of time with his nine-year-old granddaughter. But he also proves unable to withstand his tantrums. He can no longer get along with his colleagues and the psychological help is of no avail.
So the movie is definitely about something. But as said here, it could have been shorter and more powerful. There are too many images that distract and that you as a viewer can do little with. Like those opening shots of that house in the different seasons. What should you do with it? And there's more. I couldn't place the lock either. The search for his wife's lover plays only a limited role. There is no answer as to why. As so often.
