Tim Jenkin and Stephen Lee are white South Africans and anti-apartheid activists. They are imprisoned for working on behalf of the African National Congress and taken to Pretoria's infamous high-security prison. There they come into contact with activist Denis Goldberg and plan an escape.

"You Are the White Mandela."
Apartheid, an invention of man. Continue to find it incredible what humanity is capable of. It's just in and in sad! It is and remains so important to continue to spread these stories, in whatever way, so that new generations are also aware of the atrocities of history. From Guns Akimbo on to Escape from Pretoria, a huge switch. It's been a long time since I've seen such an intense movie. I'm really starting to appreciate Radcliffe as an actor. Great piece of acting from him and of course the rest of the cast. High emotions and fierce confrontations regularly splash off the screen. I am speechless. Impressive! I certainly wouldn't call it standard film, every outbreak has its own story. And this story has just a few more ingredients that make it stand out from the rest. In short: you should not miss this film.

This film brought back memories, eg the boycott of Outspan oranges.

The duo Tim Jenkin and Stephen Lee are two white South Africans who fought against apartheid and in this film you can see how they fare after they were arrested. They are taken to a white male prison in the city of Pretoria. There the intention is that you "learn to think differently and be grateful that you were born in the most beautiful country in the world".
This also includes the idea that everyone thinks that way and you have to get used to it quickly.
In this prison they immediately come into contact with Denis Goldberg who has been imprisoned there for years and tries to make it clear to them that escape is a deadly idea. Spotlights that light up every square inch, a 20-foot high (about 6 meters) wall, barbed wire and trigger-happy guards on the wall. But the two plan to leave and work out a plan with activist Denis Goldberg and witness the development. Sometimes nail-bitingly exciting and a story wrapped in a film that, apart from the inhumanity of apartheid, is worth watching for less than 2 hours.
