Red 11 is part of a small docu-series in which director Robert Rodriguez gives tips to aspiring filmmakers on how to achieve a lot with a small budget. The intention is commendable and can count on appreciation from the community, but that does not alter the fact that the end result is not very memorable. Although the concept is original and of course Rodriguez adds some experience to the whole, the lack of tension and atmosphere weighs heavily after a while. The main character played by Roby Attal also makes a colorless impression and the finale requires too large a scale for the limited resources, in which the ideas become increasingly ridiculous until it can no longer be taken seriously. I also think it's a bit lame that you have to watch the behind-the-scenes to get the "full experience", a concept that of course applies to every film.
