Formulaic Christmas film about a beautiful woman and two equally handsome men who compete for her hand. Of course she can call on a wise grandfather, who will provide her with good advice. That's standard in these types of films. What is surprising is that the almanac, to which the title refers, although prominently present, does not actually have any function in the story.

Christmas film with many beautiful atmospheric pictures, but that was it. I've seen many Christmas films, but this one is at the bottom of my ranking in this genre. I wasn't part of the Christmas magic at all and as far as I was concerned there was no chemistry at all between the main actors. Felt no emotion. No love, no tears. The attempt at some humor through the caricatured supporting role of a friend with exaggerated Christmas OBS was also an unsuccessful attempt for me. I've been looking forward to watching this because it is part of my annual tradition to watch as many Christmas films as possible in the run-up to the holidays themselves. And unfortunately there are some bad ones. 1.5*
