I thought it was a nice film, well acted and the story was good and exciting even though I knew how it would end (but a horrible reality). I think that reality has been well simulated and you cannot expect any Evil Dead or Exorcist situations. 4 stars ✨

Okay.

Regardless of what is written above, I don't think there has really been an Amity film that has really dealt with the original murders. Perhaps a flashback or a piece of explanation, but not as a full-fledged film, right?

Does it add much? Well, I thought it was quite different from most Amity films. Delivered more seriously, the first half is almost entirely family drama, with a heavy-handed father and some teenage problems that are discussed.

Horror comes to the fore a bit more in the second part, although it is kept limited. Not that many really exciting moments either, which breaks up a film like this a bit towards the end. Furthermore, it is well acted and it also looks quite authentic. Certainly not the worst in the series, I would really call it an added value, but I didn't think it was a great film.

2.5*

This "Amityville" captivated us even though we initially expected a lot from the previous films in it. You know: family comes to live in the house, they get to know the house inside, visit all the rooms and cupboards, then the pastor comes by to bless the house. Then it went wild in the previous films about "The Amityville house", apparently the films were based on true events and you had made someone shiver again. Especially for someone who didn't know the history of this house, the first thing they saw was a reasonable horror film. For us, at a certain point it became an act of repetition.

And this one stood out, in our opinion. Slightly different story, reasonably well played and humor, but humor that you have to see.

Our rating? A 7!
