Celle Que Vous Croyez plot

Middle-aged teacher Claire is a divorcee. She creates a fake Facebook profile of a 24-year-old woman named Clara in order to keep an eye on her young lover. However, he doesn't fall into her trap, so Claire tries through his best friend. The latter accepts her friend request, after which their false friendship blossoms into an equally false love affair. Gradually, however, Claire develops feelings for the man who, in turn, falls for the fictional Clara. A woman he now also wants to meet in real life.

Brought from the library, and it didn't disappoint me. The story captivated me from start to finish, I found it quite exciting and intriguing, and I like the acting. I think Juliette Binoche is well cast for the role. Towards the end it got a bit confusing, but eventually it became clear to me again. The picture looks nice, clear. Nice to have seen! 4*

I would have immediately given a 4.5* at the end of the film, but after I let it go over night, a thick 4.0* seems to be closer to reality. It's still a surprisingly good movie. I went into the film with no prior knowledge and was intrigued by the character of Claire or Clara, if you will, just like Alex. By the way, an excellent rendition of Juliette Binoche.

I don't have a Facebook profile and I prefer to avoid other social media as well. This Celle Que Vous Croyez skilfully and captivatingly responds to the fact that you never know who you are dealing with. Claire creates a kind of alter ego for herself and is emotionally dependent on her new boyfriend. She assumes a different identity, face and age by electronically flirting with an assistant of her boyfriend. Alex remains an unknown virtual person for a long time, also for the viewer, which makes it aloof and intriguing so that Claire's behavior is less bad than it seems. Until Alex gets a face...

Also interesting was the ending where different solutions were offered. On the one hand a bit dramatic, although I was happy that Safy Nebbou also had other twists in store.

Outstanding film about a middle-aged woman who pretends to be a young woman on the Internet. An original story with an interesting main character. Reasonably compelling (both the build-up with the psychiatrist and also the thriller elements that make their appearance during the second part). Some beautiful shots and a strong role by Juliette Binoche who is perfectly cast here.
