“So if you're watching this, and you're able, touch him. Touch her. Life's too short to waste a second.”

Films like Five Feet Apart are plentiful. Sick children, some romance, the inevitable death that is always lurking and of course a sentimental message. It's not subtle, but fortunately the acting is. Richardson is always good, and Sprouse also delivers a strong performance.

The directors also hold back on sentimentality for three quarters of the film and it is actually a very nice film to watch. Unfortunately, they mess up in the last part and overdo it in terms of sentimentality, and the obviously hopeful but also sad message. You hope that a director will come up with something new and surprising, but Five Feet Apart ends exactly as you expect.

A very beautiful film. I wouldn't call it very original, except that this film is about CF and not about the more common disease in films, cancer. It really affected me, I had tears in my eyes, and I think the effect is incredibly strong and beautiful. The actors play so well and I felt for them. In the end a little too much happens, for my taste. I think that's a shame, but otherwise I think it's fine and I don't think the playing time is too long/short. A 9. 4.5*

Surprisingly good movie.

For a film that takes place 95 percent in the hospital, this is surprisingly fascinating. We follow teenagers Will and Stella who have to stay in the hospital because of cystic fibrosis. Stella is waiting for new lungs through organ donation, Will is following an experimental program that he hopes will work.

A film like this stands or falls with the acting and the chemistry between the lead actors. If both of these are absent, it can almost always be called a flop. Fortunately, that is not the case in this film and we mainly see an excellent Haley Lu Richardson who gives shape to her character in an impressive way.

It is understandable that the film occasionally goes off the rails to evoke some extra emotions, but in my opinion it does present a minor drawback. I think it would have been a bit more pure.

Furthermore, this is highly recommended, more than enough!
