An interesting, true-story spy thriller about Ashraf Marwan, a son-in-law of Egyptian President Nasser, who joins forces with the Mossad on the eve of the Yip Kippur War in 1973.
Ashraf Marwan is regarded by some as the greatest spy of the twentieth century. Others claim that he worked as a double agent for Sadat. He died under suspicious circumstances in 2007.
The low ratings seem unjustified to me; the film is an interesting history lesson with exciting moments and a fine cast. I wasn't bored for a single moment.

A decent film in which the Egyptian president's son-in-law secretly exchanges information with Israel. Perhaps told a bit dryly, but still an interesting piece of history regarding the conflict between Egypt and Israel in the early 1970s. The film gradually improves and becomes quite suspenseful towards the end. A narrow 3.5 stars.

There is not much wrong with The Angel. But still, this spy thriller didn't really grab me either.
Solid but bland. Although the story surrounding Ashraf Marwan, and his actions at the time, is quite interesting.
