Great little movie. A very nice character study, where you as a viewer are put on the wrong track. For a long time you have a lot of sympathy for the persistent character Lisa, until you realize in the last minutes that this is a very selfish, dangerous woman. For me this worked well. Gyllenhaal's world-class role, it's a shame she's no longer eligible for such leading roles, more of that bitch please. By the way, the kid also plays very well. One that makes you think and let's face it: this Kindergarten Teacher is at least a class better than Kindergarten Cop at the time, right?

Weird, unsympathetic film about a kindergarten teacher who becomes obsessed with a five-year-old boy with a surprising talent for making poems. I didn't understand a word of it and watched the film pass by with increasing displeasure and discomfort. This is not due to the acting performances, but all the more to the content of the story.

This film was indeed more disappointing than I liked it. Quite a long boring seat where the endless droning about a child prodigy did not want to be seen by the boy's loved ones. The film lacks some subtlety and elaboration.

Maggie may not be doing too bad as an actress here, but she also found her unusually annoying and pushy. Perhaps remembering her own lost undeveloped talents with regret, she takes little Jimmy under her wing when he shakes seemingly clever poems out of his sleeve. Only the plot just seemed a little too implausible or simple to me.

I could still taste the approach of the end, the handling of the event. In terms of content, it is a bit bizarre when that little out of the blue summons the police. There was no reason for that at all. It only confirms the disjointed and unbalanced plot...
