"Things are never the same on the outside."
After serving 20 years for a crime that got out of hand, 38-year-old Chris is released early thanks to his tireless lawyer Carol, who is also his former teacher. As he struggles to adapt to the outside world, the digital age and the challenges of finding work as an ex-con, Chris confesses his love for Carol. A love to which married Carol cannot respond. Meanwhile, Carol's daughter Hilde befriends Chris. She finds in the older man a kind spirit where she can be herself.

Nice film about a man who is released from prison after 20 years and tries to get his life back on track. The relationships/connections between the main character and the other characters sometimes seem a bit forced. The film certainly contains some beautiful moments and has a pleasant pace. Excellent acting by the entire cast.

Chris wants a normal and simple life after his release. You can later declare those adjectives applicable to this film as a whole. It is a rather lackluster performance in spite of the fine acting. Considering the mutual relationships of the three protagonists, the film could have been a bit spicier / more exciting in my opinion.
