The glorious bliss of not-so-pretty women (with botox and/or silicone breasts), charismaless acting by discarded C-stars, CGI effects from 1998, 90s pop music at times when it doesn't fit, bizarre movie references, one-liners that are cheesier than cheese and sharks in a tornado. After five years, the franchise hasn't gotten any better, but Anthony C. Ferrante (and crew) know why we come back every summer for this nonsense: it's pure fan service. The Asylum profiles itself as Troma in that they make something that 'you belong' and can laugh together about the idiocy they have come up with again. The fourth and fifth parts are actually the most fun, because the franchise has now found a good balance between action-packed spectacle and the well-known blandness. They also keep it fun with hilarious visual catches and the endless array of cameos. In this part, a Sharknado myth is even created around the origin of the phenomenon of shark hurricanes.

After Los Angeles, New York, Washington and Las Vegas, it is now the turn of several world cities outside the US to fall prey to a sharknado. At the request of the British Prime Minister, Fin [Ian Ziering] travels to London with April [Tara Reid] and son Gil [Billy Barratt] for an advisory role at a NATO meeting. Nova [Cassandra Scerbo] makes an archaeological discovery at Stonehenge that may prove the sharknados definitive and enlists Finnish help. But their find sparks a sharknado that threatens to decimate London's population. Scotty Mullen replaces Thunder Levin as screenwriter and follows the simple formula of the four predecessors of the Sharknado series in terms of story, but at least adds some fresh (and successful) ideas, including parody of Mission Impossible[/ i], [i]Raiders of the Lost Ark and Network and a vortex through which our heroes are transported from one world city to another. The much-improved special effects make this the best of the utterly insane, but occasionally entertaining Sharknado series. Also the cameos are more fun, including those in the crazy coda that prepares us for the last part: Last Sharknado: It's About Time.

Sharknado 5 again! Meanwhile I'm used to the Sharknado's but the Sharknado in this part was extreme!

Sharknado 1 and Sharknado 2 got 3 stars from me which most people think is high, Sharknado 3, 4 and 5 get 3.5 stars from me!

Besides Nova coming back in this movie which I really like, the Sharknado's are very extreme and Fin's whole family is brutally killed by the sharks. What I find very unfortunate is that Nova dies at the end of the movie but returns in Sharknado 6.

In Sharknado 5 the special effects have been made a bit better and the way you see the sharks has also improved, there is improvement per Sharknado movie!

Sharknado 5: Global Swarming is one of the best Sharknado movies for me!
3.5 stars!
