A woman with many questions and doubts in search of true love and happiness.
A difficult film adaptation. A lot of dialogue work about possible relationships, with many reservations, but without any firm conclusions, which makes the viewer feel a bit like drowning.
Fortunately, the leading role goes to a sublime Juliette Binoche, who can still portray the variations in the emotions of this hesitant woman with her acting, which gives the film a fascinating cachet. A remarkable achievement.
The final scene is remarkable with "seer" Depardieu in a role that will possibly help Isabelle. Will that work? The title of the film is in any case woven into the solution.
Besides Binoche, there are also some French names who do well, such as good old Josiane Balasko, in a small role.

I want to take my time for Juliette Binoche. I am less of a fan of Claire Denis with an oeuvre that goes in all directions. This was another one on the negative side with a little and uninspired plot about a woman who does not find the right man. In anticipation you encounter a series of annoying men and also the character of Binoche himself is so fickle that you find it annoying.
The film is not very interesting, although I am glad that we still have Binoche, even if she cannot save the film. There is much better on the French market (and I am not talking about the masterpieces). Too bad, a missed opportunity.
