Vystrel na Perevale Karash plot

Bakhtygul is an independent cattle farmer who lives in the Kyrgyz mountains with his wife and child. His peace is disturbed when Saimen, a chieftain with whom he has been arguing for years, assaults him and robs him of his possessions. Bakhtygul decides to ask for protection from Jarasbai, the governor of the district. Jarasbei hires Bakhtygul to take on the horse thieves. Meanwhile, Jarasbei tries to win the elections and is visited by the Russian rulers from Tashkent.
