Broers plot

The brothers Lukas and Alexander are almost polar opposites, but their intense bond predominates. The somewhat shy Lukas looks up to his older, lively brother and follows him everywhere. Even when Alexander suddenly leaves for France, Luke decides to go with him. On their road trip south, they grow closer to each other. During a stop in a French village, however, the differences between the brothers are painfully exposed and it becomes clear that Lukas will have to choose his own path. A defining moment and the beginning of his search for his own identity.

I don't understand the high score for this movie. What's wrong with it? I was irritated by the behavior of both brothers. Stupid, foolish, no purpose in their lives. What about walking on the highway, almost getting run over? What about standing on the edge of an apartment building acting tough? Terrible. And running away from your problems/responsibilities? No, I didn't like it at all. There's just some acting and acting, but to say that it affected me? No, I thought it all came across as very superficial and stupid. Then the movie 'boys' is made much better.

Strong Dutch film with a balanced story. The relationship between the two brothers is beautifully shaped by Jonas Smulders and Niels Gomperts. The film does not provide an answer to everything. I think that is fine. The viewer is left with the same questions as the main character, the younger brother Luuk. Christa Theret is the icing on the cake. Bram Schouw managed to get him for this film, the lucky guy. Because she really is a star in France. And a joy to watch, whatever she does.

Also nice is his short film Sevilla, about two men and a woman who travel to France. You can see the similarities. Apparently a finger exercise before Bram Schouw started this film.

TERRIBLE! And that's putting it mildly haha.

It's funny how the contrast between the reactions is so great.

"The film managed to captivate me until the end." Not me at all, I even fell asleep twice.

"A nice film that keeps your attention."

That doesn't apply to me either, I was distracted all the time and even looked at my phone every now and then, I found it so ridiculously boring."

This just goes to show how opinions can differ. You either like it or you don't like it at all and it shows.

I really found it torture to watch and I don't really understand how I managed to keep it up?

The story was really crap, the movie was slow, the dialogues were boring and uninteresting, there was 0 depth and in the movie there were more silences than at a funeral. All in all one big soporific intention.

1 star for some songs in between ?
