Mild family drama, at least fifteen minutes too long and therefore somewhat weak, also because halfway through you sense that despite all the suffering and those problems it will end well. You are rarely really drawn into the story, the distance between the viewer and the neat but colorless main characters is too great for that, their worries are also somewhat too everyday and recognizable to be very impressed. Mainly worth it for the Francophiles among us, because this is almost an ode to the French country due to the leisurely narrative pace and those beautiful images of lush landscapes. And then of course it is part of it that the storyline is situated around wine production, I must say that I found this part of Ce Qui Nous Lie the most interesting. I have rarely realized so much what is involved before we can consume this liquid, as while watching this film (although the film does not come anywhere near the best, unsurpassed film about the love of wine, the delicious Sideways). All in all a solid but also somewhat grey production, consider carefully whether you belong to the target group before you start this, otherwise it will probably be a waste of time.

"Le Vin dissipe la Tristesse" (In Dutch, with some alliteration, it sounds just as good as "Wijn verrijt Droefheid") but the Vermillard heirs do have some disagreements and problems, although it turns out to be wine growing that unites them.

Not too deep, this film, with sometimes the feeling of "he is muddling through" and of humor (after all a drama-comedy) there is almost no. Flashbacks bring some variation and make it a bit more sympathetic, but that's all.

Cédric Klapisch has definitely done better, although we don't want to tear it down now.

Anyone who is somewhat interested in wine and has enjoyed the wine growing passages and, like me, has felt like tasting all that deliciousness, will probably give it half a point more, and I myself would give it a 3.5.

That is the maximum.

The opening shot is great, exactly what it's all about in viticulture. Furthermore, this easy-to-watch film is a nice insight into the ownership of a vineyard with all the joys and burdens. This is then again linked to a sister and 2 brothers, 1 of whom was at odds with his dying father. The film also offers a glimpse into the interpersonal relationships and how parenthood shapes the behavior of their child(ren). Beautiful final shot in which the main character Marmaï begins to come to terms with his internal quarrel with his inner child. Striking: A mother who has no empathy at all for the life of a young family on Sunday.
