Reasonable documentary about the fastest man on earth. Nice to see how he trains, races, deals with injuries and what drives the man. But after 45 minutes I had actually seen it all and it gets a bit boring, it is actually a lot of the same. A narrow pass.

The first hour of this ode to Usain Bolt is one-sided and therefore somewhat superficial and, to be honest, rather boring. It neatly goes through all of Usain Bolt's successes, with him himself telling what he thought before, during and immediately after those competitions. Since Bolt never hid his emotions on the track, this does not provide any new insights. The film only becomes interesting in the last half hour, when it focuses on the run-up to Rio 2016, when the reputation of his sport had suffered a major blow due to doping scandals. There is an effective montage of all kinds of difficult questions that Bolt is asked during a press conference, where we hear the questions but not the answers. This gives you some impression of the pressure that was put on him, even though the result is of course already known.

Meritorious documentary about the fastest athlete in sports history. Few surprises; the format of the standard sports doc is faithfully followed, but it is all pleasantly enough filmed and Usain is a likeable guest.
