The documentary tries to show the busy, hectic life of a DJ and in that respect it is not very surprising. After all, we all know that it is a busy life with flying from location to location, jet lag, poor sleep, a lot of drink and drugs.

We learn how Aviici became more and more famous, became overworked, developed physical complaints and finally decided to stop. It therefore ends on a positive note in which Avicii has found his peace. So far so good, roll credits.

In light of his very recent death, this documentary does have a sour and sad aftertaste; after all, he stopped to save his body, and then it turns out that all that stress and workload had taken its toll. Very sad. Especially because he seemed like a friendly, sympathetic guy who didn't seem to be really made for the world.

I don't think the documentary itself is very special in terms of layout or image, but I often have that I don't know whether I should judge a documentary on montage/structure or on the subject. Hence a golden mean figure: a 3.5*

Knowing How Tim Bergling Will End Up is a pretty uneasy bitter documentary. Shame on the person and talent Tim Bergling who passed away much too soon. In fact, he was a little boy who, because of his talent, pushed through to the world top and was totally unprepared (or could not be) for this. His favorite thing to do was make music, day and night if he had to. But everything else that came with it: media, tours, fans, internal/external pressure, power, money, ... was not for him. It started with physical complaints to the stomach that eventually resulted in psychological complaints...

He was perhaps too good for the little world, although naive seems to me a better choice of words. Naive in the positive sense of the word. Too gullible, too accommodating and too ignorant to dare to say "no". It happens to you, you roll into it and it's hard to escape it once it's too late. Not everyone is given the ability to deal with the pressures (and consequences) of a celebrity. Taking a step back means serious financial consequences (rightly from a financial/economic point of view), but a disaster on a human level, especially when you know that third parties often give the 'wrong' advice, often out of self-interest.

Unlike movies, I'm not much into music, other than those on the radio or those that play sporadically in the car. But I always found the music of Avicii very entertaining and cheerful songs. Top class in the genre, that was also indicated by his colleagues. RIP!
