The Deadly Mantis plot
"This Was the Day That Engulfed the World in Terror!"
Global warming is melting a huge iceberg somewhere in Antarctica. An enormous praying mantis has been trapped in that iceberg since time immemorial, which wakes up from its hibernation due to the sudden rise in temperature. The grasshopper immediately attacks a military base and then heads for Washington where it causes death and destruction.
