The third story about the police duo Vincke and Verstuyft. A series that once started with The Alzheimer Case. A film that was progressive by Flemish standards. A good thriller thanks to direction (then Erik Van Looy), story and cast. The successor Dossier K. was directed by Jan Verheyen and you could see the difference. I don't remember much about that movie either, which is saying a lot.

Het Tweede Gelaat may be a Vincke & Verstuyft story, but the characters hardly come out of the picture. You can hardly speak of a duo and especially Vincke mainly lives in the background. Werner de Smedt manages to outplay Koen De Bouw. And the rest of the characters aren't really interesting. The colleague, the profiler, the wife, the suspects, ... it's already starting to fade.

This third part is pretty redundant as if no one really felt like it. The story thanks to Jef Geeraerts is not too bad and for the cinematography Danny Elsen was again called upon, who also worked on De Zaak Alzheimer. The film has its good moments, but it is not more than a good episode of a Flemish police series. In 2017, the bar is a bit higher in the Flemish film world.

Watched this third part and didn't like it. Despite the longer running time, it managed to captivate from start to finish. The cast also did a great job and still a surprise ending. Only the ending was quite abrupt and you didn't get any explanation with the motives or any explanation, so I was a bit hungry there

Other than that he looked fine

Still a good movie, just a shame about the less developed ending.

The fact that it is not clear what the perpetrator's motivation is was also a downside to me, just like Rina's strange professional ethics - do warn your assistant that she treats the patients too familiarly, but in the meantime invite a life-threatening patient to your home to do a job. Or was that the kind of job she later needs Verstuyft for? Bit Basic instinct ? Anyway, I found it all quite exciting and beautifully portrayed, and the two protagonists convince again. Marcel Hensema actually gets too little to do, but Sofie Hoflack impresses. Banging climax.
