The Johansson family's idyllic summer is suddenly disrupted when a persistent flu virus begins to kill. Authorities begin to cordon off the neighborhood, but soon panic among residents sees them forcibly quarantined in their hermetically sealed homes. Isolated from the rest of the world, teenager Gustav investigates and finds out that the situation is spiraling out of control.
