Hollows Grove plot
When a group of young filmmakers decide to investigate an abandoned orphanage, they send a team member ahead to install their usual fake ghost-detection devices. But as the staged 'ghost-hunting' starts to get more and more realistic, the team is forced to admit that this time they're really screwed.

Funny set-up, but rather safely worked out found footage horror that tries to poke fun at the events of ghost series. The satirical elements do not come across very well, as it becomes clear relatively quickly that director Craig Efros prefers regular humor and horror. The group members who fly at each other's throats and make jokes is still quite infectious, but once they arrive at the abandoned orphanage, Hollows Grove collapses. Efros has trouble building up and maintaining tension, and the threats are definitely not portrayed well. No shadows or shadows, but complete forms of, for example, ghost children. It is not very intimidating or creepy, fortunately the protagonists act well enough to offer some distraction.
