"You never know what you might find"
Raphael, Gardo and Rato are three boys who grow up in a slum and earn a living by scouring a large garbage dump. During their search for useful items, they one day find a leather bag containing a wallet, an identity card, a map and a key. The trio decide to keep the bag and its contents and not hand it over to the police. Because of this decision, the three soon find themselves in trouble and are chased by corrupt figures within the police and government.

Nice movie. The balance between serious and lighthearted is just right. Nice atmosphere, nice use of color, nice young actors, reasonable (although unbelievable) story, nice pace and good course of the story. Exactly what I was in the mood for.
It's always difficult to judge the acting in foreign language films, but I didn't think the boys' acting was very good. Fortunately, that doesn't matter, especially with such youngsters.

Not my thing. I think it looks good visually, but it didn't bother me. I'm not into adventure/crime movies, I couldn't concentrate and I thought it was too long. At one point I almost stopped looking. I like the boys and they play passionately, but because I don't like the story, I don't give it enough. 2*

Fascinating youth film about street thugs who take on a corrupt politician and his accomplices. A very nice action film with convincing performances by the teenagers. Martin Sheen in the role of pastor in a slum doesn't quite fit my experience.
