One Man in the Band plot
One-man bands are often associated with street musicians with drums and a tambourine. The bands portrayed in One Man in the Band, with names like The Man from Uranus, Honkeyfiger, The Two Tears and Thomas Truax, are a bit more sophisticated than that. They deftly juggle organ, synthesizer, electric drums and theremins. They build their own band members, perform in gritty halls, smoky pubs and at obscure festivals. They travel around alone with a few suitcases, by train or their own car. In the documentary they talk about their divergent motives for the often lonely existence - as is apparent from the images and interviews. With many fragments of the energetic, uncompromising and sometimes deafening performances.
