Stanley Windrush is a hopeless case. Although he has an Oxford degree, he is not very smart and handy. As the only one in his circle of friends, he does feel like working and applies for a job. He immediately expects a good management job, but the people he applies to are stunned when they meet him. However, his uncle gives Stanley a job in one of his factories, because he expects (for selfish reasons) that Stanley will cause a strike and that is exactly what his uncle needs.
